Black History Month Author Event

Author of Broken Spirits: A letter to My Cousin Rodney G. King

Ontresicia Averette, author of "Broken Spirits: A Letter to My Cousin Rodney G. King" will discuss her book at a Black History Month author event at 1 p.m. Saturday, February 22. Ms. Averette's book explores Rodney King's struggle as well as her own efforts to maintain peace in her life despite gender and racial discrimination.

The event is free and will be held from 1 to 3 p.m. at the Railroad Book Depot, 650 Railroad Avenue in Pittsburg. For more information on the event or the book store, please call (925) 427-2334.
