ELF Play Date (Early Learning with Families) at the Pittsburg Library
Each week in November, a mischievous elf will be hiding somewhere in the Pittsburg Library. He’ll be doing all sorts of fun things and his location will change each week. Children are welcome to see if they can find him, and they will receive a small prize. Then, kids are invited to join in the fun at the Library ELF play dates on Friday, November 21 at 11:15 a.m. or Saturday, November 22 at 1 p.m.
The activities at the play dates all center one early literacy components: reading, singing, playing, talking, and writing. These events are a celebration of the funding the Pittsburg Library received from the California State Library’s Early Learning with Families (ELF) Initiative. The Library has also received funding from community organizations such as the Pittsburg Women’s Community League. This funding has allowed the Library to begin making the Library’s environment more inviting and more conducive to young children’s learning as well as more supportive to parents and caregivers.
