PG&E has requested Caltrans' approval for a nighttime closure of the W/B Route 4 Ramps at Loveridge Road and California Avenue. The closure is scheduled for the night of Thursday, May 6, 2010 beginning at 10:00 p.m. with the reopening of the ramp not later than 5:00 a.m. Friday morning. During the same period of time, the Loveridge Road over-crossing will be closed between California Avenue and the E/B Route 4 Ramps.
PG&E crews will remove the existing overhead cables from the old steel lattice towers where the existing cables cross over Loveridge Road and the W/B/ Route 4 Ramps. This work was previously scheduled in late April but canceled due to inclement weather.
PG&E will be posting detours to guide traffic around the work area. Traffic will be detoured from the W/B on-ramp at Loveridge Road to the W/B on-ramp at Railroad Avenue. Traffic on W/B Route 4 will be detoured from the W/B off-ramp at Loveridge Road to the W/B off-ramp near Harbor Street. The northbound / southbound traffic on Loveridge Road will be detoured over the local roadway network via Leland Road, Harbor Street, and California Avenue.
The overhead utility relocation is one in a series of stages of work to clear the right-of-way for the next phase of highway widening.
