Safety Enforcement
1 – Warnings:
After a pool rule or policy has been broken, the lifeguard will make the patron aware of the policy and explain the reason for the rule. If the rule is broken a second time, you will be asked to sit out of the pool for a short period of time. The disciplinary action selected for the patron will reflect both the nature of the offense and the patron’s age.
Some actions are more dangerous than others, and further disciplinary action may be taken without an initial warning.
2 – Suspension from the Pool
A patron may be suspended from the pool when they pose a threat to the safety of themselves and/or other patrons. Any refusal to comply with any rule as well as any threat or action against a staff member or other patrons is cause for suspension. The duration of the suspension is left to the discretion of the Recreation Specialist/ and will reflect the nature of the offense and the guest’s age. If an adult patron refuses to leave the facility upon being suspended, then the police will be notified. The conditions of the suspension will be made clear, an incident report will need to be signed, and the patron will be warned that further action could result in an expulsion from the pool for the remainder of the season.
3 – Expulsion from the Pool
Any patron who repeatedly refuses to comply with the rules and standards of the facility may be subject to expulsion from the pool for the remainder of the season. There may be certain instances when immediate expulsion may be necessary. All expulsions are left to the discretion of the Recreation Specialist or Recreation Supervisor on site. The conditions of the expulsion will to be made clear and an incident report will need to be signed by the patron.
