BAY POINT -- The Ambrose Lions Club will present its annual Spring Carnival from Thursday, March 31 through Sunday, April 3 at the corner of Willow Pass Road and Clearland Drive in Bay Point. The Carnival will feature children's rides, midway games and carnival food. The carnival opens at 4 p.m. on Thursday, March 31 and Friday, April 1 and at Noon on Saturday, April 2 and Sunday, April 3. Closing times will vary, but in general, the Carnival should run until 10:00 p.m. each day.
Proceeds benefit the community programs of the Ambrose Lions Club, including the service club’s scholarship program for high school seniors living in Bay Point and Pittsburg, and eyeglass referrals. Ride tickets are available prior to the Lions Spring Carnival at a discount, with booklets of 30 tickets on sale for $20.00 through March 30. This represents a 34 percent discount on the price of individual tickets that will be sold at the Carnival. . On site ticket sales, beginning on March 31, will be $1.00 per ticket, 25 tickets for $23, and 80 tickets for $70. All-day ride passes also will be sold for $25. All rides will require 3-5 tickets.
The Ambrose Lions Club is part of Lions Club International, with community and humanitarian programs in 206 countries and geographic areas around the world. The Ambrose Lions Club supports the Diablo Valley Blind Center in Pittsburg, the Lions Blind Center in Oakland, as well as Lions Wilderness Camps for Deaf Children in northern and southern California. The service club provides holiday food baskets to Bay Point and Pittsburg families, makes eyeglasses available for the needy, participates in the Lions International Peace Poster Contest, sponsors a public speaking contest for high school students and a scholarship program for graduating high school seniors living in Bay Point and Pittsburg.
