Electric Vehicles and Energy Upgrade
California are here! Come see how Pittsburg is gearing up for the next wave of
vehicle technology and ramping up our workforce to meet new demands in energy
efficiency. Join the City of Pittsburg during the lunch hour to celebrate the
new addition of an electric vehicle charging station in the Civic Center
parking lot. An Eco-Fair featuring green programs and organizations will be
there to help celebrate and share valuable information about exciting new green
technologies and opportunities.
The new EV charging stations will
allow visitors and employees of City Hall, the Pittsburg Public Library, and
the Contra Costa County Courthouse to charge their electric vehicles as they do
business there. Having charging stations spread out throughout the community is
key to supporting local residents and workers who want to buy an electric
vehicle and save thousands of dollars on gasoline. By having multiple public
places to charge, they can be sure that they will not run out of power before
they reach their destination.
Local agencies are actively
promoting training opportunities for the local workforce to join the growing
green building industry as energy efficiency contractors and workers. Hear
brief announcements on programs currently launching for homeowners and local
contractor workforce.
Featuring a speech by Mark Herbert, Chief of Staff for Assemblymember Susan
Bonilla, and representatives of Contra Costa County.
