Hundreds of people here will be joining literally thousands of people around the globe on Sunday, April 18 for the Dow Live Earth Run/Walk for Water. In an effort to bring awareness to the need for safe drinking water, participants will walk six kilometers (about 3.7 miles) – the average distance most women and children must walk each day to obtain water for their daily use.
The 6K Walk taking place at the Dow Wetlands Preserve includes 19 exhibitors who will focus on local water issues, live music, free snacks and water, docent-led tours, activities and more. The first 500 will receive free t-shirts. Bring the family (no pets please), bring a picnic, and enjoy the award-winning Wetlands while learning more about the global water crisis. The entire event is free.
